Prof. Ke Ya, Professor at the School of Biomedical Sciences, has recently been elected as a member of the Asian Pacific Regional Committee of the International Brain Research Organisation (IBRO). Her term begins in January 2025. IBRO is a global association dedicated to advancing neuroscience worldwide through education, research, training, and outreach initiatives.
In addition to this honour, Prof. Ke has also been appointed as the sole global representative (outside of Europe) on the Program Committee for the 2026 Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) Forum. The FENS Forum is one of the most prominent neuroscience conferences globally.
In these roles, Prof. Ke is committed to fostering neuroscience research and supporting equity and diversity in the scientific community, particularly within the Asian Pacific region. As a representative for FENS, she will actively work to encourage neuroscientists from the region to participate in the upcoming FENS Forum by submitting poster abstracts, symposium proposals, and nominations for plenary and other speaking opportunities.
