After graduating with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, I completed an MRes in Biomedical Research at Imperial College London, where I undertook industry-collaborative projects with AstraZeneca (MSC–HSC crosstalk in a bone-marrow microphysiological system) and MSD (psychosocial impact of antipsychotic-associated weight gain). I then worked in a medical diagnostics laboratory. From October 2025, I will join the Institute for Regeneration and Repair at the University of Edinburgh under Martin Lee Doctoral Scholarship in Prof. Keisuke Kaji’s lab, developing human hepatocellular carcinoma models from chemically expanded hepatocytes– an opportunity I learned about through Prof. Vivas H.F. Chan, my CUHK supervisor on hepatocyte differentiation from human stem cells. I’m grateful for the School of Biomedical Sciences’s support and excited for the next chapter.
