Graduation Ceremony of the Master of Science Programme in Genomics and Bioinformatics

The 2024-25 Graduation Ceremony of the Master of Science Programme in Genomics and Bioinformatics (the MSc Programme) was held on 8 November 2025 in the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building in Area 39, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, marking the successful completion of the Programme by its thirteenth batch of MSc Programme graduates.

Prof. Andrew M. Chan, the Director of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), and Prof. Stephen K.W. Tsui, the Associate Director (Research) of SBS and Programme Director of the MSc Programme, were invited to officiate at the ceremony. We were honourable to have the presence of Prof. Andrew Chan to present the Award of Excellence with scholarship to graduates who obtained an outstanding academic performance. Congratulations to the awardees of 2024: Ms. Chan Hoi Ching, Ms. Kai Tsz Lam and Mr. Sze Suen Chit.

The Ceremony was followed by a group photo session and a light lunch, with the participation of around eighty attendees including graduates and their friends and relatives. Also, we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Prof. Zhao Hui, Assistant Director of the Graduate Education of School of Biomedical Sciences, as well as the teaching staff and GNBF6010 supervisors for their participation:

Recently, the MSc programme was selected for the University Grants Committee(UGC)’s Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS) under the priority area of “Healthy living and caring community”. This scheme subsidizes the local students admitted in 2025/26 and 2026/27 intakes. A total of 11 local students from 2025/26 intake were awarded by the scheme, with each student receiving HK$100,000 to offset the tuition fee for the entire taught postgraduate programme.
