Prof. Bruce Beutler, 2011 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine and 2011 Shaw Laureate in Life Science and Medicine visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong on 16 April 2013. During his visit, Prof. Beutler gave a research seminar on “Forward Genetics in Mammals: Then and Now” which was jointly organized by the School of Life Sciences and the School of Biomedical Sciences. The seminar was well attended by hundreds of staff and students within the University.
Prior to the seminar, Prof. Beutler visited our School during which he was warmly greeted by Prof. Fung Kwok-Pui and Prof. Cho Chi-Hin. Apart from being briefed on the latest development of the School, Prof. Beutler also met with some of our School members (including Prof. Andrew M. Chan, Prof. Franky L. Chan, Prof. Chen Yangchao, Prof. Christopher H.K. Cheng, Prof. Stephen K.W. Tsui, Prof. Mary M.Y. Waye, Prof. Xia Yin and Prof. Zhao Hui) to learn more about their research expertise.
