BSc in Biomedical Sciences Team “SEED” won Runner-Up Prize at APRU Global Health Virtual Case Competition 2025
12 Nov 2025

A team of students from the BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme at the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), known as SEED, has been awarded the Runner-up prize at the APRU Global Health Virtual Case Competition 2025. The team members include Miss Cheang Oi Wa, Miss Vania Devina, Miss Felicia Halim, Miss Celeste Loh and Miss Wong Chung Lam.

Competing against 110 teams from 26 universities across 13 economies, SEED distinguished themselves by securing a place in the top ten and ultimately winning the Runner-up title. Their winning project, titled “From Rice Bowl to Every Table: Closing Indonesia’s Food-Access Divide with Data & AI,” addresses critical food access challenges in Indonesia. The initiative aims to shift decision-making from broad national averages to highly localized, real-time insights that better reflect the specific needs of families, small farmers and remote communities.

We warmly congratulate team SEED on this remarkable achievement and wish the students continued success in their future endeavors.
