Research funding awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST)

Three research grants of about RMB¥15.5 million supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) National Key Technologies Research and Development Program of China, were awarded to Prof. Jiang Yangzi and Prof. Chan Hon-fai, members of our Developmental and Regenerative Biology (DRB) Thematic Research Program and of the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM), CUHK.

Prof. Jiang was selected and funded with an amount of RMB¥5.45 million for the research project entitled “The Roles and Mechanism of Tissue-Specific Stem Cells in Osteoarthritis” in the field of Stem Cells and Translational Research under the MOST’s “Young Scientist Scheme”.

Meanwhile, Prof. Chan received RMB ¥4.89 million and RMB¥5 million respectively from MOST for the projects entitled “Engineering Highly Efficient Chassis Cell” in the field of Synthetic Biology, and “Smart Biomaterials for Directing Stem Cell Differentiation in 3D for Constructing Bioartificial Liver” in the field of Stem Cells and Translational Research.
