Qualifications for Admission
In addition to the general admission requirements to the Graduate School, applicants should normally hold a bachelor’s degree with honours (preferably Second Upper Honours or above) in a field related to biomedical or life sciences.
All applicants must also fulfil the “English Language Proficiency Requirement” as stipulated by the Graduate School before being considered for admission.
MPhil Stream
The Stream is research-oriented. Students should inform themselves in depth about the fields of knowledge relevant to the topic of their projects.
Full-time students normally take two years to fulfill all the requirements of the Stream, and the courses required are listed as below:

Students are required to take a minimum of 12 units including 5 compulsory courses (8 units) and 2 elective courses (4 units) and other required courses:
In addition to satisfying the stream requirements and other requirements as prescribed by the Division, each MPhil student is required to submit a thesis based on his/her research for examination and pass an oral defence of the thesis for graduation.
