Being an awardee of the Hong Kong Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme, Dr. Jia Lin graduated from the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) with her Ph.D. degree in 2013 under the supervision of Prof. Franky L. Chan.
After graduation, Dr. Jia joined the University of Hong Kong to pursue her postdoctoral training in cancer biology. Her current research interests include the investigations on the functional roles of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection in the pathogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a unique type of head and neck cancer with a high prevalence in Southern China, including Hong Kong. Dr. Jia successfully obtained a Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) in 2017 and commenced her research in this area independently.
Benefiting from the broad knowledge and strong research skills training in her postgraduate study in the SBS, Dr. Jia will commit to developing her career in academia with focus on cancer research.
