- Bidirectional interaction between tumor microenvironment and cancer cells.
- Development of novel and rational combination therapies for effective cancer treatment.
- Biology of cancer stem cells.

Teaching and Research Interests:
- Antimicrobial agents, antimicrobial resistance and stewardship.
- To work closely with students to fully ground them in fundamental concepts and integrating technology to enhance learning.
- Developing curricula in Clinical Microbiology with special focus on diagnostics.
- To develop teaching content that is clinically relevant that helps students build a stronger base and prepares them for the professional challenges that await them.
