夏銀教授領導的研究揭示 RGMb 在促進巨噬細胞浸潤加重腎臟疾病中的作用

(EN) Macrophages are widely recognized as key players in kidney injury, inflammation and fibrosis. However, the mechanisms underlying the infiltration of macrophages into injured kidneys remain largely unknown. Prof. Xia Yin’s research team has uncovered that RGMb binds to TAB1, enhancing the interaction between TRAF6 and TAB1 and activating the TAK1/αTAT1/α-tubulin pathway. This process promotes the infiltration of macrophages into injured kidneys, aggravating renal inflammation, injury and fibrosis.

These findings suggest that targeting RGMb could be an effective therapy for the treatment of kidney inflammation and fibrosis.

The research has been published in PNAS in February 2025.
