In the Research Grant Council (RGC) General Research Fund (GRF) 2011-2012 exercise, a total of 10 research projects totaling HK$9.58 million were successfully funded. These funded projects will commence in the last quarter of 2011 and the corresponding investigators are:

– Prof. KO Wing Hungt: “Functional role of the novel G protein-coupled receptor 30 in modulating nucleotide-evoked Ca2+ signaling and ion transport in human airway epithelia: implications for airway inflammation”
– Prof. LEE Tin Lap: “Identification and functional characterization of novel long non-coding RNA candidates in male germ cell development”
– Prof. WAN Chao: “Insulin/insulin receptor signaling in chondrogenesis during skeletal growth and regeneration”
– Prof. XIA Yin: “Regulation of BMP signaling in oocytes”
– Prof. YAO Xiaoqiang: “TRPV4-C1-P2 complex: assembly and function”
