RGC GRF 2011-12 obtained by School members

In the Research Grant Council (RGC) General Research Fund (GRF) 2011-2012 exercise, a total of 10 research projects totaling HK$9.58 million were successfully funded. These funded projects will commence in the last quarter of 2011 and the corresponding investigators are:

– Prof. CHEN Yangchao: “Functional characterization of EZH2/miR-218 interaction in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma”

– Prof. Christopher H.K. CHENG: “An investigation into the functional role of insulin-like growth factor-3 in mediating the action of LH on oocyte maturation in zebrafish”

– Prof. FENG Bo: “Systematic screening for new factors that can promote rapid generation of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)”

– Prof. HUANG Yu: “Endoplasmic reticulum stress mediates endothelial dysfunction in diabetes and obesity”

– Prof. JIANG Xiaohua: “CFTR as a tumor suppressor in breast cancer progression/metastasis”

– Prof. KO Wing Hungt: “Functional role of the novel G protein-coupled receptor 30 in modulating nucleotide-evoked Ca2+ signaling and ion transport in human airway epithelia: implications for airway inflammation”

– Prof. LEE Tin Lap: “Identification and functional characterization of novel long non-coding RNA candidates in male germ cell development”

– Prof. WAN Chao: “Insulin/insulin receptor signaling in chondrogenesis during skeletal growth and regeneration”

– Prof. XIA Yin: “Regulation of BMP signaling in oocytes”

– Prof. YAO Xiaoqiang: “TRPV4-C1-P2 complex: assembly and function”
