郑诗乐教授研究团队发现肥胖引起的免疫紊乱可促进肝癌
(EN) Obesity has become a major risk factor for liver cancer, but the underlying reasons remain unclear. The most recent research findings by Prof. Alfred S.L. Cheng’s group uncover an immuno-metabolic mechanism for cancer development, in which obesity induces cholesterol accumulation in the liver to impair anti-tumor immunosurveillance. Supported by patients’ data, this work provides new intervention strategies by using cholesterol-lowering statins or certain clinical-in-trial drugs for the control of liver cancer in the obesity epidemic.
