1st Meeting for the Advisory Board on Students’ Career and Development
5 Dec 2016
Details:

Following the establishment of the Advisory Board on Students’ Career and Development (the Advisory Board) of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) in September 2016, its first meeting was convened at our School on 5 December 2016.

Before the meeting commenced, Prof. Chan Wai-yee, School Director of SBS, presented appointment certificates to the Chairperson and Members of the Advisory Board as a token of our gratitude for their staunch and generous support to the School. The meeting was started off with Prof. Chan’s brief introduction on the School’s background, our postgraduate and undergraduate education, followed by exchanging views on interns’ and graduates’ calibers as expected by employers, and on what essential elements were to be incorporated in the curricula of our academic programmes.

It is our hope that, through obtaining professional views from leaders in public and private sectors and partnership with them in the arrangement of internship programmes, the career development of our undergraduate and postgraduate students can be continually enhanced, thus enabling them to respond to the ever-changing market needs and expectations in a more timely manner.
