Activities and Outreach Events for the BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme

The BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme (BSc Programme) Team participated in or organized the following activities between September and December 2020:
- Virtual Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 10 October 2020: Over 1,000 visitors participated in the virtual booths and live activities arranged by SBS to gain a better understanding of the BSc Programme. The wide variety of activities included alumni and student sharing, laboratory tours, scientific demonstrations such as 3D printing in biomedical sciences by Prof. Ellis K.L. Fok and Prof. Chan Hon-fai, Assistant Professors of SBS.
- Information Session on Postgraduate Studies at CUHK on 27 November 2020: To give our undergraduate students a better understanding on the prospects in postgraduate studies, Prof. Woody W.Y. Chan, Associate Director (Graduate Education), SBS was invited to deliver the information session about MPhil-PhD in Biomedical Sciences Programme, and to answer questions in association with the programme structure, entrance and graduation requirements, etc.
- Online Regional Fairs – International Outreach Weekends: The Office of Admission and Financial Aid (OAFA) of CUHK launched and hosted the Online Regional Fairs to promote CUHK undergraduate programmes to international students. The BSc team participated in the sessions held on 28 November and 12 December 2020 targeting students from Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Central Asia and Indian subcontinent. The sessions were comprised of admission talks and programme consultations delivered by Dr. Ann S.L. Lau, Programme Director of BSc in Biomedical Sciences, as well as admission interviews arranged for the participants.
With various promotional activities to reach out to prospective students, we hope to attract more high calibre and promising students to get admitted to our BSc Programme.
