Jointly organised by the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Renji Clinical Stem Cell Research Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), the Symposium on Stem Cell and Cancer Research was successfully held at SBS on 14th June 2019. Led by Prof. Gao Weiqiang, a five-people delegation from SJTU participated in this one-day symposium.
Upon hearing the welcome remarks by Prof. Andrew M.L. Chan, Associate Director (Development), SBS, presentation sessions were then delivered by school members and the five delegates from SJTU who shared about their latest findings on stem cell and cancer research. Speakers from SBS included Prof. Franky L. Chan, Prof. Andrew M.L. Chan, Prof. Vivian W.Y. Lui, Prof. Zhou Jingying, Prof. Alfred S.L. Cheng, Prof. Zhao Hui and Prof. Feng Bo. Prof. Cora S.W. Lai, The University of Hong Kong was also invited as guest speaker. After the presentation sessions, the participating investigators of CUHK and SJTU conducted a panel discussion on their research projects and further explore potential collaboration opportunities in the near future.
