The BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme Team participated in / organized the following activities between September to December 2024:

Post-internship Lounge: Held on 11 November 2024, this event, formerly known as the “Sharing Session of Biomedical Internship,” was revamped to provide a platform for students to discuss their changing perceptions of the biomedical industry before and after completing their internships. The audience learned about current internship opportunities and the experiences of our students. We were honored to have Dr. Ann S.N. Lau, Dr. Josephine W.S. Lau, Dr. Julia Rosa Macedo, Dr. Po H.M. Yeung, and Dr. Zhou Yuhuan serve as judges for the presentations.
After the opening remarks, 15 final-year students presented their experiences to the judges, followed by a Q&A session. At the end of the presentations, Dr. Ann Lau provided feedback during her closing remarks. All students demonstrated a solid understanding of the current market through their high-quality presentations.

Briefing Session of UG Student Exchange Programme and BSc-MSc Study Option at The University of Manchester, U.K: On 4 October 2024, a briefing session was delivered by Dr Ann S.N. Lau. CUHK and the University of Manchester (UoM) are strategic partners and have established a collaborative agreement to promote student exchange between the two institutions, including: 1) Undergraduate Student Exchange Programme and 2) BSc-MSc Study Option which allows CUHK students of the BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme to consider completing an undergraduate degree at CUHK and a master’s degree at UoM in four years.

Info Session: Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology PhD Program: On 1 November 2024, Dr. Joshua Tam, an admission committee member of the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology PhD program in Medical Engineering & Medical Physics (MEMP) provided valuable information and tips for those considering further studies after graduation.

Briefing session for Articulated Capstone-PhD Programme: Prof. Woody W.Y. Chan, Associate Director (Graduate Education) of the School, introduced the new Articulated Capstone-PhD opportunity for students considering pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at our School. This initiative targets Concentration Area A students who plan to apply for the MPhil-PhD in Biomedical Sciences offered by the School of Biomedical Sciences and meet specific requirements. Eligible students will be actively considered for admission to the SBS PhD Programme by the School. The Info Session Series aims to inform students about applying for postgraduate studies and various postgraduate programme options.
