Research Grants Council’s visit to The Chinese University of Hong Kong
14 Jun 2018
Details:

The Research Grants Council (RGC) arranged a visit to The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 14 June 2018. Five subject panels divided into seven sub-groups had parallel visits to various departments and schools.

The sub-group in Vascular Biology, Cancer Epigenetics, and Development Biology under the Biology and Medicine Panel visited the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) and was warmly received by Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of SBS and other School members. After a brief introduction of our School given by the Director, three of our academic staff, including Prof. Yao Xiaoqiang, Prof. Alisa S.W. Shum and Prof. Alfred S.L. Cheng, presented their recent research work to the panel members. The panel members then toured our research facilities located at the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building, followed by two meeting sessions with our junior faculty members and research postgraduate students, respectively.

Upon completing all the parallel visits, a RGC open forum was held in which panel members offered constructive recommendations to the research staff in CUHK that help them write their RGC grants proposal.
