With the joint efforts of the Organizing Committee of the SBS Postgraduate Research Day 2018, the SBS Postgraduate Student Association (PSA) and the Graduate Education Office, the SBS Postgraduate Research Day 2018 was successfully held on 8 – 9 November 2018.
This annual flagship event has been serving as an effective platform for our postgraduate students to exchange research ideas with their peers and supervisors. This year, two invited professors from the Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and eight postgraduate students from KIZ and Peking University (PKU) also participated in the event.
Based on the performance of the poster presentation on the first day, 11 postgraduate students of SBS and four postgraduate students of the participating institutions were selected to enter the oral presentation competition held on the following day. Finally, Ms. Wang Yifan from SBS and Mr. Liu Yuechen from PKU won the First Prize of the oral presentation. Other awardees included three Second Prize winners, five Third Prize winners, five Merit Prize winners, as well as ten winners who were elected through online voting for the “Most Popular Poster Award”.
We congratulate the prize winners for their outstanding presentations and research work. This event once again succeeded in further enhancing the academic exchange among postgraduate students, teaching and research staff members as well as our local and overseas guests.
