UGC Visit to School of Biomedical Sciences

On 21 April 2010, 11 members from the University Grants Committee (UGC) visited the University among whom five of them paid their visit to the School of Biomedical Sciences. The five UGC members included:
- Mrs Chan Wong-Shui, Pamela, Former Chief Executive , Consumer Council
- Prof Willard Fee, Edward C. and Amy H. Sewall Professor of Otolaryngology, and Head and Neck Surgery, Stanford University Medical Centre
- Prof Ho Yan-Ki, Richard, Professor (Chair) of Finance, CityU
- Prof Wong Yuk-Shan, Vice-President for Administration and Business and Professor of Biology, HKUST
- Prof Yang Fujia, Chancellor, University of Nottingham; President, University of Nottingham Ningbo; Professor, Fudan University
During the visit, the UGC delegates received a presentation delivered by Prof Wai-Yee Chan, School Director which highlighted the various areas of the School including its organization, undergraduate and graduate education and research. Afterwards, they had a tour to the Macromolecular and Microarray Core, the Microscopy and Imaging Core and the teaching facilities available at the School.
