A few members of the Vice-Chancellor’s Global Alumni Advisory Board (GAAB), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) visited the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) and the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building on 11 May 2021. A campus tour was arranged on that day afternoon to enable the newly appointed GAAB members to get familiar with the latest development of CUHK. The GAAB members participating in the visit included Mr. Albert K.P. Ng, Mr. Richard L.K. Tsang and Mr. William I.L. Chui.
During their visit to SBS, the three GAAB members were warmly welcomed by our School members, including Prof. Woody W.Y. Chan, Associate Director (Graduate Education); Prof. Wan Chao, Deputy Managing Director of Core Laboratories and Associate Professor; Dr. Joaquim Vong, Scientific Officer and Ms. Josie Lai, Senior Technician of Core Laboratories. The GAAB members were guided to tour the most advanced state-of-the-art facilities of our various Core Laboratories, including the newly launched Single Cell Omics Core. SBS members also briefed the visitors on the School’s recent development, especially in terms of different fields of biomedical research.
The GAAB, comprising 12 distinguished CUHK alumni of different professions around the world, was formed in 2018 and chaired by Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, the Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, for engaging alumni in the University’s strategic development.
