Mr. Edward Cheng, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Universities Grants Committee (UGC), and Dr. Richard Armour, Secretary-General of UGC, visited the University on 6 November 2012 to learn the latest development of CUHK in terms of the new hardware facilities for the 334 curriculum transition. Accompanied by the Senior Management of the University including Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice Chancellor and President; Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost; Prof. Jack Cheng, Prof. P.C. Ching, Prof. Michael Hui, Prof. K.T. Hau, Pro-Vice-Chancellors, and Mr. Eric Ng, Registrar, the guests visited the Library Extension, An Integrated Teaching Building, the Yasumoto International Academic Park and Wu Ho Man Yuen Building, as well as the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building.
During the visit to the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building, Prof. K.P. Fung, Associate Director (Administration) and Prof. Kenneth K.H. Lee, Managing Director of the Core Laboratories introduced to the guests the major core laboratory facilities available and the open laboratory design at the School of Biomedical Sciences.
