Animal Handling Course for SBS Staff and Postgraduate Students
15 Nov 2013
Details:

Following the success of last year’s course, the Animal Holding Core under the Core Laboratories Team and the Graduate Division of Biomedical Sciences of the School continued to arrange for our School members a special lecture on handling experimental animals and the use of Laboratory Animal Services Centre (LASEC) facilities on 15 November 2013. During the lecture, Dr. Dewi K. Rowlands, Acting Director of LASEC, shared with our staff and postgraduate students the up-to-date information on animal welfare, experimental design involving laboratory animals, related applications for submission to the Animal Experimentation Ethics Committee, the law requirements in Hong Kong which governs animal experiments, as well as the facilities and services available at LASEC.

Through attending this course, it is hoped that our staff and students members are further enabled to uphold a higher standard of animal ethics when pursuing research excellence.
